Chess

The chess program intended also for learning chess game and for communication between chess players all over the world. It is based on GNU Chess. It works with Windows95 or higher.

You can download the english version of Chess here, free of charge. It is the version of the program that announces the date February 12 2004 in the Help About Chess and that contains the help file chess.chm from 2/12/2004. Comparing to the first version of program it changed a little closing the Help and arranged formally the source files by deleting unused parts and unnecessary comments of remaking. The original program can be found at Winsite as CHESS321.ZIP .

Among other things, the program Chess can also replay games written as a sequence of moves. Another form of record, modern international, is shown in the following figure.

Such a record (also without the introductory information) can be replayed by an extended program named Replaying, in cooperation with a controlling program Replay.

A further controlling program Big can search for such games in a file of more than 100000 games that, as a part of GNU chess, can also be downloaded from the Internet. (For details see installation instructions of the following programs.) By studying chess literature you can find most example games from a book in the file and replay them comfortably.

You can download the english version of Replaying, Replay and Big here, free of charge. It is the version of the program that announces the date March 25 2004 in the Help About Replaying, that contains the help file chess.chm from 3/31/2004 and that announces versions 1.0.0 in the information About Replay and Big. English is not my native language. If you find a mistake at this Internet page or in the programs, please send me a mail to . (Please press now the 'Refresh' or 'Reload' button of your Internet browser to check that you see the new address and not the old one kept in the browser's memory. After the first character of it, the stop character '.' follows.) I had to change the address because the preceding one had suffered from automatic attacks. Here it is in the form needing to be copied manually. Please use it only if you mail me and do not write it down to the address list of your mailing program. (At present, using a good anti-virus program is necessary.)

I would also invite your contacting me if you can arrange translation into a further language. Thanks.
